Events in East Devon
One of the most extraordinary events in England takes place in Ottery St Mary on Bonfire night. Flaming tar barrels are carried through the streets to the largest bonfire in the South West.
Ottery also sees a Plague of Pixies on the Saturday nearest to Midsummer when the Pixies arrive for Pixie Day and you can also enjoy another HUGE firework display!

The Battle of Trafalgar - Devon remembers. During August 2005 there was a fascinating reconstruction of an amazing journey through Devon, bringing the news of victory at Trafalgar to the friends and relatives of the many Devon seamen who fought and died in the battle.
During October and November the illuminated carnivals process through the towns of East Devon. These amazing processions, complete with their own carnival queens and princesses tour through Colyton, Axminster, Seaton, Honiton and Ottery St Mary.
